This page describes the informational website at coolops.app. The CoolOps mobile app has a separate app privacy policy.

Reading and searching guides

You can read guides and download the public PDFs without creating an account. Guide search runs in your browser. We do not send the text you type to PostHog or a search service. Search text appears in your browser's address bar; opening or reloading that address can include it in website delivery logs.

Website delivery and logs

The website uses a web server and Cloudflare to deliver and protect pages. Requests can include an IP address, request time, requested address, browser information and referrer information. Infrastructure logs are used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website. Cloudflare may process request data and use security-related storage under its privacy policy.

Website analytics and your choice

We use PostHog's US-hosted analytics service to understand which guides are useful and whether readers follow app links. Events include page views, article scroll milestones, guide links, PDF download clicks, app-banner interactions, support-link clicks, and search usage. For search, we send a broad topic, character count and result count, not the words you typed.

Events include the page path, referring website, basic browser/device information and campaign labels when present. Query strings and fragments are removed from page and referrer URLs. We disable IP-based geolocation and IP storage in analytics events; PostHog still receives your network address while delivering the service. We do not enable session recordings, automatic form capture, advertising pixels or identified person profiles.

A random identifier in session storage connects events within your browser tab session. It is not linked to your CoolOps app identity. This setup does not measure unique people across sessions, app installations or purchases. We do not set analytics cookies. A local storage preference remembers your analytics choice for this browser.

We honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals by disabling analytics. You can also change your choice below. Disabling analytics does not affect access to guides, downloads or the app link.

Remembering a dismissed banner

When you close the app banner, the website stores a single preference in your browser's session storage so it stays closed as you read other guides in that tab. This preference contains no customer details and is not sent to our server. Browser settings determine when the session storage is cleared.

App Store links

Following an App Store link takes you to an Apple service, where Apple's privacy terms apply. Where an Apple campaign tag is configured, the link may identify this website or link placement as the referral source; it does not include a name, email address or job record.

Contacting support

If you email support, your email provider and ours process the message and contact details. We use the information to respond and investigate the request. Avoid sending customer records or sensitive information that is unnecessary for the issue.
